I have three cameras I use for video production. Okay I also use my iPhone 8+ but when I need something more like a DSLR, these are my cameras. And yes, I really like Canon. The very first camera was a Canon AE-1 which is a film camera. Great little camera that got me started into the love.
This my “bigger” camera, my main camera for a client and other type productions. This is just a great camera with a lot of features. The LED touch-screen is a must-have for me. Just easy to quickly change your key settings without going into the menu.
I got this to have a reliable second more full-size camera. It’s also a great vlogging camera. Like the Canon 70D, it has an LED touch-screen but is a lot lighter. The one thing I do not like and wish Canon would fix, the audio levels are not visible on the LED screen. You have to go into the menu to set and hope you’re good to go. Otherwise, it’s a good, less expensive camera.
Canon G7X Mark II
This is another great little camera. I use it a lot for vlogging but it can do so much more. First of all, it’s literally pocket-size so it doesn’t weigh you down. It has an LED touch-screen that flips up so it’s easy to frame yourself. Pop this bad boy on a tripod and you’re good to go. Something to know – there is no external mic port so you have to use the built-in external mic. It’s a really good mic, but keep that in mind when shooting in a noisy location.
