3 Truths About Temptation

Temptation happens.

Sure as you and I breathe, we will face temptation. Since temptation is a fact-of-life, here are three truths you need to remember.

Truth one: You will be tempted.

Count on it. Somewhere, somehow, you will face temptation. Gonna happen. Guaranteed. As much as you and I might like to believe, we are not immune to being tempted.

Regardless of who you are, how old you are, where you live, what you do, rich or poor, you will face temptation in your life.

That’s a fact.

Truth two: Your temptation is not unique.

No matter what you’re tempted with, you are not the first person, nor the only person to have ever faced it. Sorry, you’re just not that special to get the only temptation saved for no one else. Name it and someone else, whether you know it or not, has faced that exact temptation.

Regardless of who you are, how old you are, where you live, what you do, rich or poor, someone else has been tempted with what you’re tempted with.

That’s a fact.

Truth three: God provides a way.

When you are tempted, because remember you will be, God will provide a way out.

Rather than be tempted and wallow in self-pity and despair, God will help you by showing you how to deal with the temptation and get away from it.

Regardless of who you are, how old you are, where you live, what you do, rich or poor, God will help you.

That’s a fact.

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

1 Corinthians 10:13

You can’t get out of this life without being tempted. You can try and avoid temptation, which is a good thing, but it will still be there to, you know, tempt you. Knowing you will and others have and God provides should be the truth you need to fight your fight with temptation.
